The Bronx is home to over 40,000 Ghanaians and more than 110,000 African immigrants yet we do not have a single dedicated community center to call our own.
At Mensah Health Foundation, we believe it’s time to change that.
For years, we’ve hosted health fairs, community programs, and resource events in borrowed spaces churches, residential buildings, and shared community rooms. But our vision is greater. We are launching a campaign to establish a permanent Community Health & Resource Center for the African Diaspora in the Bronx.
What This Center Will Do:
This center is not just a building. It’s a home a symbol of belonging, strength, and progress for generations to come.
Let’s build a space that reflects our roots and supports our future. Because in every home, there is a Mensah and every community deserves a home.
Goal: Fund culturally relevant mental health workshops and group counseling sessions.
Mental health is health. Help us create safe spaces for healing, dialogue, and community support with trained African-centered mental health professionals.
Goal: Launch senior-focused programming including fitness, mental health support, and health education for African elders.
Let’s make the golden years shine brighter. Support our seniors with wellness classes, group counseling, and culturally appropriate workshops.
